Privacy policy

1. What CSVTidy is

CSVTidy is a web tool for cleaning up CSV and Excel files. The free tools run entirely in your browser — file contents are not sent to our servers.

2. Information we collect

• Waitlist emails. When you join a waitlist we store your email address to notify you when the feature launches.
• Aggregate analytics. If enabled, we use Plausible — a privacy-first analytics provider that does not use cookies and does not track individuals.
• Basic request metadata. We keep a one-way hash of the IP address associated with each waitlist submission, used only for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

3. What we do NOT collect

• The contents of any CSV or Excel file you clean. Those never leave your device.
• Personal identifiers embedded in your files.
• Third-party tracking cookies of any kind.

4. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with the service providers who host this site (Vercel) and store our waitlist database (Postgres provider), under standard confidentiality terms.

5. Retention and deletion

Waitlist entries are retained until launch notifications are sent, then archived for up to 12 months. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@csvtidy.com.

6. Your rights

Access, correction, and deletion requests are honored on a rolling basis. Jurisdiction-specific rights (GDPR, CCPA) will be addressed in the finalized policy before subscriptions are sold.
