Do you upload my file to a server?
No. For every tool currently available, your file is parsed and processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is sent to our servers.
Is it really free? What's the catch?
Yes, the basic tools are free forever. Because everything runs in your browser, our costs stay near zero. Exported files include a tiny 'cleaned_by' column pointing back to CSVTidy — that's how people discover us. Pro (coming soon) removes the watermark and adds AI-powered custom rules.
What file types are supported?
CSV, TSV, plain text, and Excel (.xlsx, .xls).
What's the maximum file size?
25 MB per file in your browser. Larger files will be supported in the Pro tier via server-side processing.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Every applied transform is added to a change history, and you can undo the most recent step. Refreshing the page discards everything (since nothing is stored).
How do I remove the watermark row on export?
It's an automatic 'cleaned_by' column appended to the exported file. You can delete it in Excel or Google Sheets. The upcoming Pro tier removes it automatically.
What's coming to Pro?
AI custom rules where you describe the fix in plain English ('split this column on the last comma', 'sum the amount column when merging duplicates'), larger file processing, saved cleaning recipes, and an API.
